Most ATS databases are full of strong candidates who applied to the wrong role at the wrong time. Talent Pool Search lets you find them. Nova indexes your past applicants and scores them against your current job criteria, so when you open a new role, you can instantly surface qualified candidates who are already in your system but not yet in the pipeline for that job.

How It Works

Nova indexes your candidates

Nova continuously indexes candidates from your ATS into a searchable database. This runs automatically in the background as new candidates enter your system.

You search against a job's criteria

From the Jobs page, click Talent Pool Search on any job with criteria configured. Nova scores your indexed candidates against that job’s criteria using natural language queries or criteria-only matching.

Review ranked results

Results appear in a table ranked by fit, with an AI recommendation and per-criterion pass/partial/fail breakdown for each candidate. Click through to their ATS profile or resume.
Candidates who are already in the pipeline for the job you’re searching against are excluded from results. Talent Pool Search is designed to surface new candidates you haven’t considered for this role yet.

Natural Language Queries

You can refine searches with natural language. Nova understands context and intent without boolean operators.

How It Works

Click AI Talent Search on any job with criteria. The search opens a live view with two panels:
  • Activity feed: The AI agent’s reasoning as it searches, evaluates, and shortlists candidates in real time.
  • Shortlist: Candidates appear as they are found, ranked by score with a fit badge, location, and a one-line summary of why they were selected.

Usage Limits

AI Talent Search is limited per company on a 30-day rolling window (default: 5 searches). The button shows your current usage (e.g. “3/5”) and disables when the limit is reached. Failed searches do not count against your limit.

Nova indexes candidates from your ATS based on configurable eligibility rules. Your account manager can adjust lookback windows and filters for departments, locations, or rejection reasons.
No. Candidates who are already in the pipeline for the job you’re searching are excluded. Talent Pool Search only surfaces candidates you haven’t considered for this specific role.
Nova surfaces previously rejected candidates if they match your new role’s criteria. Requirements and team needs change. Review previous feedback to make an informed decision.
Yes. Both search types require the job to have criteria. The buttons are disabled without them.
