Prerequisites
Before you can start Nova on a job:- Criteria configured: The job must have at least one criterion. If criteria are missing, clicking Start prompts you to add them first.
- Job is live: The job posting must be in a published or internal state in your ATS.
- Payment method on file: A valid payment method is required for metered plans.
Starting and Pausing
From the Jobs page, each job has a Start or Pause button. Starting opens a confirmation dialog showing when Nova will process candidates (immediately, then on a recurring schedule in your timezone). Click Start to confirm. Pausing stops Nova from picking up new candidates. Any candidates currently being processed will finish, but no new evaluations start. All existing scores and data are preserved.
Stage Automation
You can configure Nova to automatically move candidates between pipeline stages based on their score. This is configured per job via the Edit Stage Automation button on the Jobs page.Configuration
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Starting stage | The stage where new applications land. Only candidates in this stage are routed. |
| Low potential | Move candidates to a specific stage when their score is at or below a threshold (e.g. score ≤ 3). |
| High potential | Move candidates to a specific stage when their score is at or above a threshold (e.g. score ≥ 8). |
Stage automation only affects candidates currently in the starting stage. It does not move candidates backwards or re-route candidates who have already been moved to other stages.
Auto-Disable
Nova automatically disables scoring on jobs in two situations to help control costs:Billing period expiry
For metered plans, Nova disables at the end of each billing cycle. Warning emails with Keep Active links are sent during a configurable grace period (default: 5 days before the billing boundary). Click the link or re-enable from the dashboard to keep scoring active.Inactivity
Jobs that haven’t processed any applications for a configurable period (default: 14 days) are automatically disabled. No warning emails are sent for inactivity auto-disable.Re-enabling
Disabled jobs can be re-enabled at any time by clicking Start on the job. Previous scores and data are preserved. Re-enabling after billing expiry starts a new billing period.Auto-disable only affects Nova’s scoring. Your job posting remains active in your ATS and continues receiving applications normally.
