Do I need to connect LinkedIn to use Nova?
No. The LinkedIn integration is optional. Talent Search, pipelines, scoring, and every other part of Nova work without it, and you can disconnect it at any time. What does the integration do?
It lets you add candidates you select in Nova to one of your LinkedIn Recruiter projects. Nothing is exported until you pick the candidates and the project and confirm. Each export adds up to 50 candidates and runs on your own Recruiter seat. Nova reads your Recruiter contracts and projects when you connect and when you pick a project, and checks that the connection is still active. It only adds candidates when you export: it finds the candidates you selected by their exact profile URL and adds them to the project you chose.Where does Talent Search candidate data come from?
From third-party data providers and publicly available professional sources. Nova doesn’t use your connected LinkedIn account, or any other customer’s connected account, as a source for Talent Search. Is this an official LinkedIn integration?
No. Nova connects to LinkedIn through Unipile, an independent connectivity provider that other recruitment and sales software also uses. The connection doesn’t use LinkedIn’s official API, and neither Nova nor Unipile is a LinkedIn partner or endorsed by LinkedIn.How does the connection work?
- You install the Nova browser extension and approve a one-time browser permission to read your LinkedIn session.
- The extension sends that session to Nova over HTTPS.
- Nova uses it to set up the connection with Unipile.
Can LinkedIn restrict an account that uses the integration?
LinkedIn’s terms restrict unauthorised third-party automation, and LinkedIn can restrict accounts it believes break them. Nova can’t guarantee that LinkedIn won’t restrict a connected account. If that’s a concern for your organisation, leave the integration disconnected. Everything else in Nova works the same.Who should decide whether to connect LinkedIn?
Your organisation. LinkedIn agreements and internal policies differ between companies, so the person responsible for your LinkedIn contract should decide whether an independent integration fits. Nova can’t interpret your agreement with LinkedIn for you. Section 22 of our Terms of Service sets out how responsibility for third-party platform integrations is shared. How do I disconnect?
In Nova, go to Talent Search, open Integrations, and click Disconnect next to LinkedIn. Disconnecting also removes the connection from Unipile. To keep LinkedIn disabled for your whole organisation, emailnova@dweet.com.
